Brown, Michell Kimbrough

A resident of Maurepas and a native of Baton Rouge, she died at 12:54 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, in Ascension Parish in an automobile accident. She was 43 and a 1984 graduate of Woodlawn High School. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Sunday, Nov. 2, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and in the chapel on Monday, Nov. 3, from 9:30 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by her parents, Sam and Joan Kimbrough; paternal grandfather, Sam H. Kimbrough Sr.; children, Haley Elizabeth and Jacob Allen Brown and their father, Roger Brown; a brother, Darryn and wife Candiace Kimbrough; niece, Peyton Alexandria Kimbrough; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Ruth Denham Kimbrough; and maternal grandparents, Albert Edward and Catherine Ott Kent. Byrum, Rebecca Claudine Stephens "Becky"

The retired co-owner of Byrum Valve Co., she died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, in Prairieville. She was 60, a resident of Prairieville and a native of Monterrey, Tenn. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Baton Rouge.

Hammond Jr., Lester

Lester Hammond Jr. departed this life on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at his home.  He was a native and resident of Darrow.  He was 69.  Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 1 at 11 a.m. at The Christian Assembly Full Gospel Church in Gonzales.  Interment will be behind Christian Assembly.  He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his mother and stepfather, Mary and Willie Shannon; one sister Trudie Browning; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jackie Hammond and Leslie and Theron Johnson; 11 grandchildren; six nephews, and two nieces.  Preceded in death by father Lester Hammond, Sr.; and two sons, Kenneth Hammond and Lamonte Hammond.  Purple Shield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Hidalgo Sr., Lloyd Joseph

A retired Louisiana State Police trooper, he died at 5:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, at his residence in Donaldsonville. He was 82 and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Asian-Pacific Theater from 1944 to 1946, for which he received three bronze stars. Entombment in St. Jules Mausoleum. He was a member of the Louisiana Retired State Troopers Association and a retired sugar cane farmer.

Landry, Linda Ana

A retired member of PAARC and a resident of Donaldsonville, she died at 3:53 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, in Gonzales. She was 57 and a native of Paincourtville. Interment in St. Jules Catholic Church Cemetery.
