Deville, Gracie Bunyett “Pearline”     

A homemaker and resident of Gonzales, she died Saturday, Oct. 4, 

2008, at 9:05 a.m. at Promise Hospital, Gonzales. She was 91 and a 

native of St. Landry. Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on 

Tuesday from 9 a.m. until service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. 

Jim Riley. Interment in Hope Haven Cemetery, Gonzales.

Stephens, Earnest         

A retired grocery store owner and a resident and native of Gonzales, 

he died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008, at 7:15 p.m. at Hospice of Baton 

Rouge. He was 93. Interment in the Little Zion Baptist Church 

Cemetery in Gonzales.

Trainer, James “Jim”     

A retired pipefitter with Ormet Corp. and a resident of Maurepas, he 

died at 4 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at East Jefferson General 

Hospital, Metairie. He was 83, a native of French Settlement and U.S. 

Army veteran of World War II. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 

11817 Jefferson Highway, on Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. until religious 

service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Leon Carpenter. Entombment 

in Resthaven Gardens of Memory Mausoleum. He was a member of American 

Legion Post 198, Hurd Merrill Lodge 454, F&AM, Acacia Shriner, 

Livingston Parish Council on Aging Advisory Committee and Plumbers & 

Steamfitters Local 198. He also served as a lobbyist for the AARP.
