APSO looking to solve pair of robberies

ST. AMANT - Ascension Parish Sheriff Jeff Wiley has asked for the public’s assistance in solving two burglaries at St. Amant Pharmacy on Hwy 431.

The first burglary occurred sometime between Sept. 2 and Sept. 3, just after Hurricane Gustav came through the area, the sheriff said in a release.

No video surveillance was available for this incident due to the electrical outage, Wiley said.  However, blood was collected from the scene when investigators learned the suspect sustained a cut while stealing a large quantify of ocycodone was stolen.

The second burglary took place between Sept. 18 and Sept. 19, when another large quantity of oxycodone was again stolen, Wiley said.

During the second burglary, video surveillance captured the unidentified suspect committing the burglary, according to the sheriff.

He said it appears the suspect was wearing a dark-colored long sleeve jacket with a hood with the number “1987” across the chest, and dark colored pants.
