Lanoux, Wilbert P. "Shing"        

A native and resident of Gonzales, he died at 1:18 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Gonzales, at age 77. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a retired electrician with IBEW Local 995. In 1960, he was awarded Outstanding Apprentice, representing the Baton Rouge area, at the Southern Apprenticeship Conference in Miami. He was a longtime member of the American Legion and the VFW. Visiting at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, Gonzales, on Friday, Sept. 19, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial in Hope Haven Cemetery, Gonzales.

Rice, Sharon Ione Luthe   

A retired office manager with Abramson and Streb Medical Clinic, she died Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, at 9:23 a.m. at Ollie Steele Burden Manor, Butterfly Wing. She was 78, a resident of Gonzales and a native of Greeley, Colo. Interment in Hope Haven Cemetery, Gonzales. She was a graduate of Austin High School in El Paso, Texas. She was a founding and active member of St. James Lutheran Church of Gonzales, founding member and past officer of Active Partners Investment Club.

Young Sr., Leroy Paul   

Leroy Young Sr. was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a friend to all he met. Everyone who knew him, loved him. He was 60, and a resident of St. Amant, where he was an excellent homebuilder. He died on Monday, Sept. 15, 2008. He lives on in the heart of his wife, Linda Kay Riley Young; daughter, Crystal Lynn Sebert; son, Lee Young Jr., and daughter-in-law Mavis; two stepsons, Charles and wife Michelle Blum and Shawn Blum; grandchildren, Cody Babin, Jill Sebert, Bradley Sebert, Marlee Young, Landen Young, Luke Young, Shelby Blum, Kayla Blum, Brayden Blum and Chase Blum; sister, Patricia Hale, and brother-in-law, William Hale; five brothers, and two sisters-in-law, Ronald and Mary Young, David Young, John Young, Michael Young, Phillip Young, Andrew and Merri Young; brother-in-law, Eugene Robert Riley; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; father, Joseph Sitman Young and wife Addie; stepfather, Ronald Meyers; and goddaughter, Charity Ardoin. Waiting for him in heaven are his mother, Betty Elizabeth Meyers; brother, Joseph Sitman Young Jr.; sister-in-law, Barbara Riley Young; mother-in-law, Susie Marie Baker and father-in-law, Robert Lee Baker. Visiting at Ourso Funeral on Friday, Sept. 19 from 6 to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 9 a.m. until service at 10 a.m.
