Cannon, George Lawrence "Poppa George"
He passed away on Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, at Gonzales Health Care Center. Visitation will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant on Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Stevens Cemetery, Gonzales. A retired maintenance supervisor and deputy sheriff with the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office, he was also a Purple Heart recipient for service to his country in World War II. He was an Eagle Scout and Boy Scout leader.
Crawford, Edna Puckett “Nonnie”
She passed away at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was 92, a resident of Gonzales, a native of Fairy, Texas, and a former resident of Hammond. Her prime focus earlier in life was serving her church. She enjoyed working with the youth at Woodland Park Baptist Church in Hammond. She later was a supervisor at West Brothers Department Store and enjoyed her participation in the Greater Gonzales Area Business and Professional Club, where she served in numerous official positions and was later named Woman of the Year. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, quilting, playing dominos with her domino gang, living on a farm and raising cattle with her husband and of course, spoiling her granddaughters, Tiffani and Gizell. Interment in Lusk Cemetery, Gonzales.
Glover-Walker, Pearl
A retired homemaker and a resident and native of Sorrento, she died at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, in Metairie. She was 67. Iterment in Second Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church Cememtery, Sorrento.
Lambert, Cecilia Bourgeois
She died on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, at Gonzales Health Care Center from complications from Alzheimer's disease. She was 82 and a native and resident of St. Amant. She was an athlete, worked long and hard in several family-owned businesses and as a homemaker. She loved her large family and many friends, her church, her community and her country. Moore, Dr. Lincoln Morris
A resident of Donaldsonville, he died at 7:07 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet. He was 59 and a native of Selma, Ala. Interment was private. Arrangements by Brazier-Watson Funeral Home, Donaldsonville.
Torstenson, Irma C.
A resident of Maurepas, she died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. She was 85. Interment in Whitehall Cemetery in Maurepas.
