Bazile, Clayton Vincent

A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he died at 3:40 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 68, a native of Maurepas, a resident of Gonzales and a retired warehouseman. Entombment in Holy Rosary Church Mausoleum, St. Amant. He was a LSU football fan. He worked for Louisiana Industrial Garment for 33 years and Blues Auto Parts for 17 years.

Edmonston, Dixie Lee

She died on Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, at her home. She was 67, a homemaker and a native of St. Amant. She was a graduate of St. Amant High Class of 1957, enrolled in business college and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.  Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home Chapel on Friday from 8:30 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., officiated by the Rev. Joey Mack. Internment will follow in Hope Haven Cemetery.

Felton, Velma Myles

A resident of Sorrento, she died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at Plaquemine Health Care Center. She was 83 and a native of Gonzales. Interment in Phillipian Baptist Church Cemetery.

Herin, Dr. Michael R.

A retired dentist and a former resident of Gonzales, he died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, in Waycross, Ga. He was born on Dec. 30, 1941, in Miami. He was a graduate of the Loyola School of Dentistry in New Orleans and practiced dentistry in Gonzales for many years. He was a captain in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Dental Association and the Louisiana Dental Association. In Gonzales, he was a member and past president of the Rotary Club and served on the school board for St. Theresa of Avila School. He is survived by a son, Michael Herin, of Baton Rouge; former wife, Dianne Villar Herin, of Gonzales; three grandchildren, Jonanthan, Stephen and Rebecca Herin, of Baton Rouge; and his mother, Janie May Herin, of Waycross. Preceded in death by his father, Raymond J. Herin. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

LeMaire Sr., Russell Keith

Russell Keith LeMaire Sr., 54, and a resident of Ascension Parish, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, in Gonzales. He was born Sept. 22, 1953, in Abbeville. He was the oldest son of Wilson and Irene LeMaire and sibling of Chris, Kevin, Jude and Terry LeMaire. A graduate of East Ascension High School, he retired from CF Industries, where he worked for 20 years as a plant operator and was known to his co-workers as "Rock." Survived by his wife of 26 years, Patricia G. LeMaire, of Gonzales; mother, Irene LeMaire, of Gonzales; son and daughter-in-law, Russell Jr. and Melissa LeMaire, of St. Amant; daughter, Erica LeMaire, of Gonzales; stepson and wife, Coy Jr. and Stephanie Daigle, of Gonzales; stepdaughter and husband, Dusty and Brent Duet, of Texas; 16 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two nieces and two nephews. Preceded in death by his daughter, Danica LeMaire; and father, Wilson LeMaire. Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Thursday, Sept. 11, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation at Household of Faith Church on Friday from 11 a.m. until service at noon. Interment in the Household of Faith Cemetery. Russell's passion and hobby was working on boat propellers. He loved his family and will be deeply missed. Ordello, Sally Stretinaiski

A homemaker and resident of Donaldsonville, she died at 7 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, in Donaldsonville. She was 86 and a native of Shelka, Alberta, Canada. Entombment in Ascension Mausoleum, Donaldsonville. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Pink Ladies of Prevost Hospital, Shell Oil Alumni, Crusin' Cajuns, Bayou Ramblers and AARP.

Roché, Lionel M.

He died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008. He was born April 19, 1931 and was a resident of Prairieville and a native of Gretna. Lionel was born on April 19, 1931. He attended Xavier University until he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He retired from Johns Manville in 1985 and continued to work as a real estate agent for Latter & Blum until his health began to fail some 10 years later. Interment in Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine.

Singletary, Giovanni Diez

She died Monday evening, Sept. 8, 2008, at her home in Gonzales. She was 82 and a native of Dutchtown. Interment in Faithful United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Toups, Donald James

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7. Donald died at his home in Prairieville on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, after a lengthy and courageous battle with brain cancer. He was 66 and a native of Abbeville. He was a teacher and coach at Abbeville High for 14 years. He later moved to Baton Rouge in 1978 and spent the next 30 years as a State Farm Insurance agent. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sally Doré Toups; daughter, Tanyau Hughes and husband Bart, Baton Rouge; two sons, Chris and wife Delle Braud Toups, Baton Rouge, and Michael and wife Marla Diez Toups, Gonzales; eight grandchildren, Reid, Colin, Anna, Ryan, Natalie, Kason, Logan and Landon; sister, Brenda Toups Atchetee, Marietta, Ga.; stepmother, Marietta Toups, Abbeville; mother-in-law, Sidonia Doré, New Iberia; brother-in-law, Sterling Doré, New Iberia; and nieces, Julie Atchetee Jenkins and Janine Atchetee Lewin, both of Georgia. Preceded in death by his parents, Whitney and Velmae Thibodeaux Toups. Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Friday, Sept. 12, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Prairieville, on Saturday from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev Michael Allelo, celebrant. Interment in Hope Haven Cemetery Prairieville. Pallbearers will be Kenny Almond, Tom Core, Jim Crane, Ed Domingue, Lindsey Landry, J.Y. Mula, Keith Thibodeaux and David Wilcox. Honorary pallbearers are Jeffrey Meaux and Jim Morel. A special thanks to St. Joseph Hospice and Synergy Home Care for their special care of Donald during his illness. Vicknair, Brenda Gambrell

He was 68 and passed away Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008. She was a native of Belzoni, Miss., and a resident of French Settlement. Entombment in the church mausoleum. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or the Epilepsy Foundation.
