Andrews, Virgil Jesse “Ben”
A resident of Gonzales, he passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, at age 79. He was born on Aug. 29, 1928, in Port Vincent, and was a Korean War veteran and member of Gray's Creek Baptist Church. Visitation at the church on Friday, Aug. 29, from 8 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by Brother Carl Sullivan. He will be laid to rest at Felder Cemetery.
Boyd, Annie Atkins
A resident of Donaldsonville and Hammond, she died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008, at Heritage Health Care Center, Hammond. She was 83 and a native of Hester. Visiting at Brazier-Watson Funeral Home, Donaldsonville, on Thursday, Aug. 28, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Visiting at Zion Travelers Baptist Church, 713 Walnut St., LaPlace, on Friday from 10 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Isiah Franklin. There will be no viewing after the service. Interment in the church cemetery.
Cole, David Curtis
A retired insurance adjuster, he passed away at his home in Prairieville on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008. He was 66 and a native of Louisville, Miss., but spent most of his life in Ruston. Memorial service at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Friday, Aug. 29, at 10 a.m., with visiting at the family home following services.
Howard, Paranell Anne “Nell”
A retired assistant vice president of Chase Bank and a resident of Gonzales, she died at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. She was 68 and a native of Plaisance. Visiting at St. Mark Catholic Church, Gonzales, on Friday, from 9:30 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by Deacon James Morrissey. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
Millet, Carolyn Ann
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and resident of Gonzales, she passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, at the Baton Rouge General Bluebonnet. She worked as a cosmetologist until her health would not allow her. She was 56. Visiting was at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Wednesday, Aug. 27, from 5 pm until 9 pm. Visiting resumed at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Thursday, from 8:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Entombment in Holy Rosary Mausoleum followed. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Jerry Millet; two daughters, Tara Murphy and husband Russell and Lacey Millet; two brothers, David Andre and wife Janie and their children, Drew and Austin, Wayne Andre and his wife Hinano and their children Jolice Provos, Trevor, Lyle, Hannah, and Hope Andre; grandson, Cade Murphy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Andre and Elva Fabre Andre and a brother, Howard Andre. Pallbearers were David Nunnery, Larry Watts, Trevor Andre, Drew Andre, Matt Bourgeois, and Darryl Watson. Honorary pallbearers were Russell Murphy, Chuck Lebeau, and Thomas Bourgeois. She loved training and riding horses, and helping all kinds of animals. She was a great cook and cherished the time spent with her family and friends. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Carolyn Millet Benefit Fund at Bancorp South Bank Account 1119600508 in Prairieville. The family would like to express its deep thanks to Dr. Gerald Miletello and the staff of the oncology unit of the Baton Rouge General Bluebonnet. A benefit is scheduled to help with medical expenses on Sunday, Sept. 14, from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the VFW Hall on Church Point Rd. in Gonzales.
