EBRSO:?Death of Gonzales man at Swaggart complex believed suicide

Staff reports

BATON ROUGE – The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office has reportedly closed the case on Casey Joseph Coco, 24, of Ascension Parish, whose body was found at the abandoned Swaggart complex dormitories in south Baton Rouge.

The Coroner’s office reported that Coco appeared to have fallen from a high height, but whether he fell, or jumped or was pushed is undetermined.

Coco was found lying on the ground on the south side of the 12-story building on July 20. The East Baton Rouge coroner at the time said the body appeared to have been at the site approximately two weeks.

Authorities said last week additional evidence at the scene led them to believe the death was a suicide.
