Wiley named to state Board of Regents

BATON ROUGE – Gov. Bobby Jindal recently announced the appointment of Gonzales attorney Joseph C. Wiley to the Board of Regents.

The Board of Regents is a state agency created by the 1974 Louisiana Constitution which coordinates all public higher education in Louisiana.

Joseph C. Wiley is the vice-president and general counsel for the Excel Group, a company specializing in construction and maintenance. Wiley is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University with a degree in chemical engineering, as well as a graduate of the Paul M. Hebert School of Law at Louisiana State University. He will represent the 3rd Congressional District on the board, as required by statute.

The board is comprised o 16 members and includes one student member, two members from each congressional district appointed by governor, and one at-large-member appointed by governor. The appointments are subject to senate confirmation.
