Early Voting Begins
Early voting for the March 30, 2019 General Election will begin on Saturday, March 16, 2019 through Saturday, March 23, 2019. The hours of early voting are from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Parishwide School District Proposition No. 1 of 2 (Millage Renewal):
Shall the Parish-wide School District of Ascension Parish, Louisiana (the "District"), continue to levy a seven and forty hundredths (7.40) mills tax on all property subject to taxation in the District for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the year 2021 and ending with the year 2030 (an estimated $9,025,000 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the tax for an entire year), for the purpose of giving additional support to public schools in said District?

Shall the Parish-wide School District of Ascension Parish, Louisiana (the "District"), continue to levy a special tax of two and one-half (2.5) mills on all property subject to taxation within the District (an estimated $3,050,000 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the tax for an entire year), for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the year 2023 and ending with the year 2032, for the purpose of giving additional aid and support to the public elementary and secondary schools in said Parish?
Early voting is conducted in the Registrar of Voters offices in Gonzales at 828 S Irma Blvd, Rm 205, Donaldsonville at 300 Houmas St., Ste B and Oak Grove Community Center located at 37433 Hwy 42, Prairieville, La.

Dancing for A Cause 2019
ALL STAR YEAR. 2019 is our 10th year anniversary. To ensure another successful year at The Arc of East Ascension’s Dancing For A Cause Event. The 2019 committee is asking our community for names of nominees that would love to have an opportunity to dance and raise funds for The Arc of East Ascension. St. Elizabeth Play
The Drama Club of St. Elizabeth School in Paincourtville, La. is proud to announce its next presentation on Saturday, April 13 at the St. Elizabeth Community Center. What is so special is the fact that this year’s play, “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” by Tim Kelly, will be presented for the fourth time. Blessing of the Fleet
Blessing of the Fleet and USCG Safety Checks - The Gonzales Boat Club is sponsoring its annual Blessing of the Fleet on March 23, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. The event will take place at its clubhouse location on Diversion Canal Road in St. Amant and on the Diversion Canal. Father Jason Palermo of St. Joseph's will bless boats on the land and in the water. The US Coast Guard will also perform safety checks on all boats and present each owner with a safety decal for his vessel. Afterwards everyone is invited to cruise with the club on a prep trip. ACA Spring Fling
Ascension Council on Aging will host its annual “Spring Fling” Easter Party on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at the Gonzales Senior Center on Irma Boulevard. Festivities will begin at 9:30 a.m. We will have an Easter Bonnet Contest in the Easter Parade. So get busy now working on those special bonnets! And don’t forget about the ACOA’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt, always an exciting and fun-filled event! Lunch will be served at noon. Parish seniors 60 and above are encouraged to come out and join the fun! Those planning to attend must call to make a lunch reservation by Friday, April 12, 2019 so get hoppin’!
