The 2018 JFA Christmas Parade withe theme, "12 Days of Christmas," will take place Sunday, Dec. 9 at 1 p.m. The parade will roll come rain or shine.

Per the request of Mayor Arceneaux and the city councilmen the parade will take a different route this year. The parade route will start at Irma Boulevard and Cornerview Road. It will take a left of Cornerview Road and turn left on Burnside. The parade will end at Eastbank Shopping Center parking lot. If you have to pick up anyone after the parade you can pick them up in that parking lot.

Parade celebrations will showcase a wide variety of decorated floats featuring several Parish dignitaries, Christmas music, local elementary, middle, and high school bands, dance teams, and the 2018 Jambalaya Queen Brook Everette, Santa, and Mrs. Clause.

JFA President, Wally Taillon, along with Parade Committee Members is excited and honored to announce the Grand Marshal for the 2018 Christmas Parade will be Donna Britt.

Donna worked as an anchor reporter at WAFB in Baton Rouge for 37 years. Besides covering all fields of news including sports reports, she also volunteered extensively in the community. As we all know Donna was diagnosed with ALS a year and a half ago and is still active in fundraising for ALS research and services. She is still out there helping others. Donna is married to Mark Ballard, the Capital Bureau Editor for the Advocate newspaper. They have two children, Anne and Louie. We think she is one amazing woman that just never gives up.
