Join Bill Carlson, Senior Sales Director with Infogroup, on Wednesday, August 22, at 6 p.m. in Donaldsonville for a presentation on how ReferenceUSA can be used as a job-searching tool. ReferenceUSA, an internet based database, provides information on more than 14 million potential employers nationwide. ReferenceUSA is a great tool to use for researching careers and networking and finding job opportunities within an industry. Kanji Klub

They’re whispered around campfires, shared on the internet, and passed from generation to generation. Whether it’s the story of the Slender Man, Kuchisake Onna, or any other spooky tale, urban legends spark fear in the hearts and minds of children and adults alike. At this month’s session of Kanji Klub, on Monday, August 20 at 6 p.m. in Gonzales, we will be watching Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories while making haunted mirrors. Kanji Klub is Ascension Parish Library’s anime club designed for adults ages 18 and up. Do you want to grow your small business? Join Ascension Parish Library for lunch and learn sessions with ReferenceUSA and take yourbusiness to the next level. These sessions will be held on Wednesday, August 22 at Dutchtown location and Thursday, August 23 at Gonzales location both at 11:30 a.m. Bill Carlson, Senior Sales Director with Infogroup, will present these seminars on ReferenceUSA, a business database containing up to date information on over 44 million businesses. ReferenceUSA is the perfect resource for small business owners, researchers, entrepreneurs, and students to find data needed for research and reference projects. ReferenceUSA is a great tool to do all kinds of sales and marketing research, learn about other businesses in the area, and much more. A light lunch will be served. Free Seminar Aids in Starting Your Own Business

Ascension Parish Library invites all interested persons to attend a free small business seminar, Starting and Financing a Small Business. It is designed for individuals who want to learn what it takes to start and run a successful small business. The program will focus on helping participants learn how to determine the feasibility of their idea as well as how to obtain a small business loan. The speaker will be a senior business consultant with the Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southern University and A&M College – Baton Rouge. The seminar will be held at the library in Dutchtown on Wednesday, August 15, at 1:00 p.m. Advance registration is required. Call 673-8699 today!
