Try to construct our Lego Challenge or simply build whatever you like on November 11, 2017 at 10 a.m. in Dutchtown. We provide the Legos, but materials and creations must stay at the library, so you might want to bring a camera to capture the moment! Lego Club is open to children of all ages. Duplo Blocks and Mega Bloks will be available for younger children. Please remember to leave your own Legos at home. We don’t want you to lose your favorite pieces! For more information on this program, contact the Ascension Parish Library in Dutchtown at 673-8699.
3. Celebrate Veterans Day:
On Saturday, November 11th, the Ascension Veterans Memorial Park Foundation will host a Veterans Day observance at Veterans Park, Gonzales, La. at 11 a.m. The AVMP Foundation would like to extend an invitation for you and your family to attend this event. Refreshments will be provided after the ceremony. We would like to take this opportunity to also inform every one of the changes regarding our park committee. As you may have noticed we are now a Foundation. The Committee voted this past year to reorganize as a Foundation an obtain a tax exemption as a non-profit. Therefore any and all donations may to the AVMP Foundation are now tax deductible. This allows the Foundation to fundraise specifically on behalf of the park and use those funds directly to support adding monuments, upgrading the park, and hosting various ceremonies and events.
