1.Flambeau Fest: Get your tickets this week for the inaugural Flambeau Festival, to be held at Ascension Fields at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center. The large outdoor festival is sure to pave the way for future large-scale music festivals. Come out to see Hank Williams Jr., Lynyrd Skynyrd, Sam Hunt, Blackberry Smoke, Crystal Day and much more. The festival has been boasting to have good food on hand out there as well. October 7-8.

2.Health - Igniting the Spirit of Pink – Breast Cancer Celebration: According to American Cancer Society, among U.S. women, an estimated 252,710 new cases of invasive breast cancer in 2017. Come join us for an afternoon of inspiration, hope, and support as you hear personal journeys of those who have survived breast cancer and a time of remembrance as we honor those who lost their battle to cancer. 2:00 p.m. @ the St. Elizabeth Hospital Sr. Linda Conference Room; Reception to follow. FREE – Registration Required. Limited Seating. Reception Speakers to include Kelly Beckman (Survivor) and Angela Miller with the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

3.Canary Islanders of Louisiana celebration: Ascension Parish Library will host the Isleños Cultural Awareness and National Hispanic Heritage celebration on Saturday, October 7th, at 11 a.m. in Gonzales. This event celebrating the Isleños culture will mark the 21st anniversary of the founding of the Canary Islanders Heritage Society of Louisiana.
