Cancer Society to host Bra-October Fest in Mandeville
The Barley Oak on the Mandeville Lakefront will be full of men in bras on Oct. 23. It's not an episode of "Men Behaving Badly," but a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society's West St. Tammany Chapter.
Sponsors - individuals, companies, or organizations - will purchase and decorate a bra. The brassiere can be adorned with company logos, generic decorations (G-rated, please), or inspiring messages for cancer survivors. Each sponsor will provide a male model to wear the bra in a runway-style fashion show, and then the bras will be auctioned off to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
Sponsorships start at only $50, and tickets to attend are $10. The event will be held at the Barley Oak at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23, and is timed to coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Interested participants should contact Christopher Kidwell at (985) 807-4659 or email@example.com. For more information about the American Cancer Society and its programs, visit www.cancer.org.
