LSU AgCenter conducting a citrus symposium for homeowners
The LSU AgCenter is conducting a citrus symposium for homeowners who would like to learn more about growing citrus in the home garden. The symposium will be presented by local County Agents Mariah Bock from St. John Parish, Scotty May from Washington Parish, and Craig Roussel from Ascension/St. James Parishes.
Topics covered will include general tree care and cultural practices, insect identification and control, and citrus disease management techniques. At the conclusion of the indoor presentations, there will be outdoor demonstrations on fertilizing and pruning for those who are interested.
Participants will also have an opportunity to see different levels of freeze damage on citrus trees.
The symposium will be held on Thursday, March 6, from 2 – 4:30 p.m. at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center, 9039 St. Landry Road, Gonzales, in the LSU AgCenter Extension Office. Interested homeowners are welcome to attend.
