Three urgent care centers in Ascension parish have merged ownership and operations under the single name of Lake Urgent Care. The new company will change names of the existing clinics, Ascension Urgent Care (Prairieville), St. Elizabeth After Hours Prairieville, and St. Elizabeth After Hours Burnside (Gonzales), and will now brand them under the single name Lake Urgent Care. The clinics will be a joint venture of Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, St. Elizabeth Hospital, and Ascension Urgent Care.

Glen Neal, M.D., will serve as the medical director. Kyle Juneau, N.P., will serve as the administrator and oversee daily operations for these three Ascension-based urgent care centers.

Dr. Neal is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He attended Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma for his premedical studies. Dr. Neal graduated with honors majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree, he attended St. Georges University School of Medicine where he received his medical degree. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Neal is a diplomat and certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Neal has worked in urgent care medicine and occupational / industrial medicine since 2002. His previous work experience included work as the medical director at a large urgent care center in New Orleans and as a staff physician for the last three years at one of the largest urgent care practices in the United States.

Kyle Juneau is a native of Gonzales, Louisiana. Kyle attended Baton Rouge General School of Nursing, where he received a Diploma in Nursing (RN).  After obtaining his RN from the Baton Rouge School of Nursing, Kyle attended Loyola University New Orleans for his BSN and MSN in Healthcare Management degrees. He then moved on to Southern Louisiana University and Northern Kentucky for his Adult and Family Nurse Practitioner degrees. Kyle is board certified as an Adult and Family Nurse Practitioner.

Prior to joining Lake After Hours, Kyle spent the majority of his nursing career as an Emergency Room Nurse at local hospitals.  During those years, Kyle served as House Supervisor at Baton Rouge General and Intensive Care Unit Manager at Riverwest. He has over 20 years of nursing experience.

“An urgent care center provides important and cost effective access to care between a regular physician office and a hospital ER. Illness and injury often don’t occur during the regular office hours of a clinic nor do they require the life-saving resources of emergency care. Bringing these three clinics under a single operation brings consistency and depth of resources to the patients they serve. We are excited to join these strong partners in delivering care,” said Robert Burgess, CEO St. Elizabeth Hospital.

“Our Lady of the Lake opened its first after hours clinic thirteen years ago and its convenience and popularity with patients has been the driver for growth and expansion. We are pleased to collaborate with our sister organization St. Elizabeth as well as the Ascension providers and look forward to this new opportunity,” added Scott Wester, CEO Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.
