Ascension libraries celebrate Read Across America Day

Staff reports

In celebration of Dr. Seuss’ Birthday and the National Education Associationís Read Across America, the Ascension Parish Library has planned a special event honoring Dr. Seuss.

Read Across America is a national reading celebration that takes place each year on or near March 2, the birthday of Dr. Seuss.  This yearly celebration encourages readers to get excited about reading.

Join the Gonzales branch and get into the reading excitement on Thursday, March 1, at 5:00 p.m.  This special event will feature Dr. Seuss stories, a rhyming bingo, and a fun craft.

You could not, would not, want to miss this special event!  This program is free and open to children in preschool and above; however, children ages 6 and under may need help from a parent to make the craft.  For more information or to register, please call 647-3955.
