Three things to do

Brandie Richardson @B_Lifestyles

1. Spend the weekend fishing:The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) Free Recreational Fishing Days will be held June 11 to 12. Both Louisiana residents and non- residents will be allowed to fish without a license on any of the state’s public waters during the weekend. Anglers are allowed to fish on all public bodies of waters without a license, but all fishing regulations still apply.

2. Cool off at the new splash park: The Oak Grove Community Park's Spray Park, located at the intersection of La. 42 and La. 73 in Prairieville, opened on Memorial Day weekend. Hours for the park will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. throughout the summer.

3.Go to the Hot Rod Power Tour: On June 11, the 22nd Hot Rod Power Tour will make a stop at Lamar-Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales, showcasing some of the best hot rods in town. The 1,500 mile tour will begin in Baton Rouge and end in Kansas City on June 17. For more information, visit hotrod.com.
