Ascension Parish Assessor’s Office deputies Lisa Jones, Kim Latino and Holly Sheets were among the many Assessors’ Office deputies from across the state to receive their pins at the Louisiana Assessors’ Association’s annual conference.

The Pinning Ceremony, which concludes the conference, marks the culmination of the time, effort and coursework required to become a Certified Louisiana Deputy Assessor.

Last year was very productive for the Ascension Parish Assessor’s Office. In addition to the three deputies certifying, Chief Deputy Justin Champlin gained an IAAO (International Association of Assessing Officers) Assessment Administration Specialist designation and Assessor Smiley was elected to the Louisiana Assessors Association’s board of directors.

Training, education and technology are vital to bringing the Ascension Parish Assessor’s Office to its full potential, according to Assessor Smiley who pledges to make sure that his office ranks among the best.

The LAA’s 86th annual conference was held in New Orleans last week.
