On Saturday, March 24, 2018, Cypress Springs Mercedarian Prayer Center will welcome Catholic evangelist, author, biblical scholar and international speaker, Jeff Cavins, to the ministry center once again to speak about discipleship and living faith-filled lives. His presentation, Life of a Modern Day Disciple, is a study designed to help people of faith make real and lasting changes in their lives. Through a prayerful reading of Scripture, personal reflection and a commitment to action, one can grow in faith and be given the means to practice these changes in daily life.

I have heard Jeff speak on several occasions,” said Sister Dulce Maria, a Mercedarian nun who has operated a ministry of healing and prayer in Baton Rouge since 2001. “Most recently I heard him speak about discipleship at a seminar in Houston. What better topic for Cypress Springs to present to Christians in our area, especially during this season of Lent.”

The registration fee for Cavins’ seminar is $60 per person and includes a continental breakfast and lunch provided by Tony’s Seafood. Pre-registration is required; seating is limited. Call Cypress Springs at 225-752- 8480 to sign up. Check in begins at 7:30 a.m.; the seminar is from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Divine Providence. Cypress Springs Mercedarian Prayer Center is located at 17560 George O’Neal Road in Baton Rouge. Proceeds benefit Cypress Springs Mercedarian Prayer Center.
