The Rotary Club of East Ascension performed one of its many service projects this week by distributing dictionaries to each third grader at Prairieville Primary School.

The students were very excited about the dictionaries and immediately began flipping through them as they wrote their names on the front page.

These special dictionaries are chosen to fit the needs of younger students with larger print while still small enough for growing hands. This annual project is designed to get children excited about spelling and supports the Ascension School Board’s mission of, “every child successful in a changing world.”

The Rotary Club of East Ascension is a leadership organization, made up of local business, professional and civic leaders. The club meets weekly. Members form friendships, and through this they are able to make a difference in our community. Rotary members are proud to carry out their motto of, “Service Above Self.”
