Area family proud of newly ordained priest

Fr. Jared Paul Rodrigue was ordained a Jesuit Priest on Saturday June 3, 2017 at St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans, Louisiana. Fr. Jared is the 26-year-old son of Ronald and Janeen Cox Rodrigue of Destrehan, La. Fr. Jared is the grandson of G. L. and Joe Anne Robert Cox of Convent La. and Tennyson and Hilda LeBlanc Rodrigue of Destrehan (both deceased.) All of his great-grandparents are deceased. They were Jo Jo and Dinah Robert of Gonzales, La. and George and Mae Cox of Convent, La.

Fr. Jared celebrated his first mass, a mass of thanksgiving, on Sunday June 4 at 2 p.m. at his former church in Destrehan: St. Charles Borromeo. Fr. Jared will be stationed in Mandeville, La.
