 -Vegetable Garden Workshop: The LSU AgCenter and Ascension Master Gardeners will host a Vegetable Garden workshop on June 13 at 5:30 p.m. at Lamar-Dixon Expo Center. Activities include discussions on vegetable varieties planted in the demonstration gardens, insect issues and controls, and disease issues and controls. There will also be a biggest tomato contest where there winner will be announced on the spot. To reserve your spot call the Parish Extension Office at 621-5799.

-Repticon: The reptile and exotic animal expo will be held at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center on June 10 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on June 11 from 10 a .m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 5-12, children under 5 are admitted for free.

-Juneteenth Freedom Festival: The City of Donaldsonville will host its 21st annual Juneteenth Freedom Festival on Saturday, June 10 at the Frank Sotile Jr. Pavilion, 2162 Thibaut Drive. The event features various special guests and performing talents such as Claude Bryant Reggae Allstars (12:30 -1 p.m.), DJ Derrick 1:30-3 p..), Bucket List Band (3-4 p.m.), Universal Language (4:30 -5:30 p.m.) and the Michael Foster Project (5:45-7 p.m.). There will also be numerous workshops focusing on the theme of Financial Freedom.
