Dancing for a Cause judges announced

The Arc of East Ascension has announced the judges for the annual Dancing for a Cause fundraiser held on July 8.

Anita Burnett Cann is a life long resident of Ascension Parish. She is the wife of the Rev. Cloyd

Cann where she serves as First Lady of the DoRight Baptist Church. They are also owners of

Affordable Printing. She believes in service above self and have served as President of the Rotary Club of East Ascension, the Arc of East Ascension, Arc of Louisiana and chairman of Ascension Parish Tourism. She has also have been honored to accept Volunteer Ascension's Volunteer of the Year Award and the Ascension Chamber Business Woman of the Year. However, her greatest achievement has been the honor of raising her two amazing daughters , Claudia and Taylor.

Dale Doty, PhD, is currently the Chancellor of River Parishes Community College in Sorrento, a position he has held since Nov. 1, 2013. Other community boards that he served on included: Boys and Girls Club, Partners, Economic Development and County Planning Commission. Dr. Doty earned a Ph.D. in Industrial Education from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. He received his masters’ degree in Student Personnel Services and his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Education from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois.

Debbie Gautreau Traylor, owner of Debbie’s Bridal in Gonzales, began her career of talent and beauty pageants at the age of 12. She loved talent, both dancing and singing. She has continued her career in pageants by judging numerous pageants both in and out of state. Traylor has written and recorded her own music as well as appearing with numerous celebrities. One of the highlights of her career is when she was honored to be inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame.

Gaylynne Mack is the Proud Executive Director of the Big Buddy Program, a local non-profit, youth serving agency in Baton Rouge for 30 years. She is recognized in the Baton Rouge community for her leadership, non-profit management skills, and enthusiasm about everything related to developing youth. Throughout her tenure she has been recognized by the Baton Rouge Area Foundation for Outstanding Non-Profit Leadership; by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana with an Angel Award; by the Baton Rouge City Council, East Baton Rouge Parish School District and Leadership Baton Rouge for her work with children and youth in the community.

Larry Schexnaydre (Writer/Director) - Started his theatre background in his living room as a young child where lively musical renditions of Danny Kaye or Rodgers and Hammerstein were the norm. He has performed for East Ascension High School, Nicholls Players, The Nicholls Singers that performed at Walt Disney World, Baton Rouge Little Theatre and The Jambalaya Singers. He wrote, produced and stared in a murder mystery for dinner guest, corporate clients and the general public at Nottoway Plantation. He founded Center Stage Performing Arts Academy with his wife, Linda and has taught acting as well as written over 130 monologues for the Stars Team for competition. Most importantly, he is married to an incredible women, Linda, and they have three wonderful children; Emily, Austen and Ben as well as his three-legged cat, Feivel and dog, Lexie.
