Rick Bourgeois is a senior vice president with MALCO theaters, a fourth-generation movie, bowling, and family entertainment company, founded in 1915. He oversees operations throughout Louisiana and the mid-south, and recently celebrated his 44th year with his company. Rick is a passionate supporter of Alzheimer’s Services, due to his personal experience with the organization. Rick’s mother-in-law passed away from Alzheimer’s, and several others who are important to him have been impacted by the disease.

Susan Haspel Lipsey, a native New Orleanian, has been a resident of Baton Rouge, since she married her husband, Richard, fifty-two years ago. Susan enjoys being a community volunteer for numerous organizations, serving as chairman of several, chairing fundraisers, and serving as a member of boards of directors, including Alzheimer’s Services. Susan and Richard served as Honorary Chairmen of Alzheimer’s Walk to Remember in 2014.

Tara Madison is a partner in the Baton Rouge office of Kean Miller, joining the firm in 2004. She practices in the business litigation and intellectual property groups. Tara first became interested in Alzheimer’s Services, when she attended a Memories Luncheon. Growing up in North Louisiana, she watched Alzheimer’s transform her grandfather, former State Senator and astute businessman, into someone who did not know his own name. She comments, “It would have been such a blessing to have an organization like Alzheimer’s Services to support my grandfather and our family during that heartbreakingly difficult time.”

Alzheimer’s Services welcomes Richard, Susan and Tara, their professional expertise, and their passion for the mission of the organization. Charlie's Place II Respite and Activity Center, the first expansion of the Alzheimer's Services of the Capital Area's nationally recognized Charlie's Place, is scheduled to open in early April 2017. It will be located on Purpera Road in The Arc of East Ascension's building in Gonzales.
