Volunteer Ascension’s ConnecTeens recognized

Volunteer Ascension's ConnecTeens were recognized at the Jan. 19 meeting of the Ascension Parish School Board. In addition to a Board resolution, the students received volunteer service pins from Nicholaus Auck, Director of Volunteer Outreach for the Volunteer Louisiana Commission.

“This important program instills lifelong lessons of service and civic duty while directly benefiting Ascension Parish. It is very likely these teens will one day serve in prominent leadership roles throughout our communities," said Superintendent Patrice Pujol.

ConnecTeens is a Volunteer Ascension program that matches young volunteers with areas of real need throughout the parish. In its 14th year, ConnecTeens members volunteered in 150 activities with 19 agencies and donated 1,064 hours of service to the community in 2015.
