  1. Learn about Black History Month: On Feb. 11 Dr. Jas Sullivan will present his book Black Identity: What Does It Mean for Black Leaders at the Ascension Parish Library in Dutchtown at 6:30 p.m. On Feb. 15 Dr. Thomas Durant will discuss his latest book, A View from the Inside: Thirty-six Years of Desegregation, at the APL in Gonzales at 6:30 p.m., a documentation from the earliest days of LSU's desegregation and person experiences as a sociology professor.   2. Attend a Microsoft Excel class: The Ascension Parish  Library in Gonzales is hosting their monthly Introduction to Microsoft Excel class on Feb. 16 at 10 a.m. Participants wil become familiar with the uses of a spreadsheet and practice using the basic features of Excel 2013, including the Menu Bar, Tool Bar and Formula Bar. 
  3. Learn about the history of football: Azalea Estates is hosting Coffee with Coach Murphy on Feb. 16. Coach Barrett Murphy, a strength and conditioning specialist and media personality, will discuss the history of football as it was played in the beginning.
