Gonzales women seeks assistance in finding lost ring

A Gonzales woman is seeking the public’s assistance in helping her locate a piece of jewelry holding sentimental value.
Dolores “Doty” Roy said that she is totally beside herself after realizing that she had lost her mother’s diamond ring.
“The ring is really unique and I wear it every day,” Roy said. “On Monday afternoon, Jan. 11, while at my granddaughter’s gymnastics class, I noticed that the ring was no longer on my finger. I was devastated.”
Roy said she had visited a number of places in Gonzales on during the day, including the Gonzales Dental Clinic, K-Mart, Stage, Wendy’s, St. Vincent DePaul’s and Walgreens on Airline Highway, as well as the Post Office, Chevron on Airline in Prairieville and Dr. Mike Joseph office in Prairieville. The last place was the Athlete’s in Motion (AIM) gym on Airline Highway in Prairieville.
The ring is a plain yellow gold band with a solitaire diamond on top. Nothing ornate. The diamond is average size, but Roy said it is really special as her mother passed away a number of years ago and left the ring to her. The missing ring also features an encasement of her mother’s wedding band.
“The ring is, of course, irreplaceable and I am heartbroken,” Roy said. “My mother truly cherished this ring, as do I, not only for its unique quality, but because both rings were given to her by my father who passed away many years ago.
I am praying that a good samaritan finds the ring and returns it to me.”
