Lake Middle School cheerleaders raise funds for cancer research

2015 was a busy year for the Lake cheerleaders who raised $3,517 for the St. Jude Children's Hospital and cheered on participants at the St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer.  

During the school year they sold t-shirts to raise $1,347 for Susan Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. 

The Cheerleaders performed in the LSU vs. Eastern Michigan half-time show Oct. 3, 2015.  Over 500 cheerleaders from the state of Louisiana, sponsored by Universal Cheerleaders Association, participated.   

Lake Cheerleaders competed in the Universal Cheerleaders Association LA Regional Competition in Hammond at SLU.  The girls placed second in the Jr. High Non-Tumbling Division and third in the Jr. High Game Day Division.  This was the first Lake Cheer Team to ever compete.

The squad is sponsored and coached by Britne’ Edmonston and Ellen Braud.
