College student from Prairieville has opinion piece published on major website

Danyelle Parrish reacts the first time she sees her published editorial.

River Parishes Community College Student Government President, Danyelle Parrish of Prairieville, reacts to her higher education editorial appearing on national blog site – “Impatient Optimists – which is apart of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation website.

“Students need better information about the colleges they want to attend – like what their programs lead to and the outcomes for the students who graduate. If I would have had information about transfer and job placement for my first college, I never would have enrolled there. I’ve gotten active in student government, and have learned that there is a lot of good data out there, but it’s not being connected and it isn’t easily accessible,” she wrote.
