Lake Elementary teacher wins physical activity resources

NEW YORK CITY – Sandy Lightfoot, PE teacher at Lake Elementary School has been selected to receive a national prize pack to encourage her students’ healthy activity and active learning.

Her class will receive gift cards from OshKosh B’gosh that can be used to purchase activewear, winter apparel, and other items. Lightfoot’s classroom will also receive a Serengeti Stampede Coloring Adventure Book that allows them to color, read, and engage in physical activity exercises. She will also receive a pack of 100 themed stickers to use as “healthy rewards” with her class to reinforce positive behavior.

Lightfoot was one of the five teachers who won the contest’s Week 1 Prize Pack. Lightfoot will also be automatically entered into drawings for the contest’s Grand and Junior Grand Prizes. Each Grand Prize winner will receive Radio Flyer scooters for their classroom and an online party with Adventure to Fitness lead character “Mr. Marc.” Each Junior Grand Prize winner will receive a $100 gift card from Office Depot OfficeMax. In total, the contest is providing $24,500­worth of prizes to teachers and schools around the U.S.
