Art exhibit announces winners

GONZALES – Awesome Art Fest on the Bayou has announced the winners from its latest art exhibition.

     Winners in the 6 to 11 age Painting category: firsr - Selena Dang with Rainbow Fish; secnd - Natalie Bergeron with Jellyfish; third - Fairytail Fish; fourth - Alexander Purdy with Lava Lights.

     Winners in the 6 to 11 age Drawing:  first - Madison Milam with Roar; second - Gabrielle Bergeron with Giraffe; third - Alexandra Purdy with Fancy Fins; fourth - Gabrielle Bergeron with Zebra.

     Lexington Crosser won first place in the Photography category with Blue Skies.

Emma Baumann won first and second place in the 3-d category with Vintage Birdhouse and Crystal Vase.

     Winners in the 12 to 17 age Painting: first - Morgan Bougeois with Butterfly; second - Brett Allen with But First, Coffee; third - Kaylyn Gueret with Rain Walk; fourth - Chelsey Blank with Fantasy Portrait.

     Winners in the 12 to 17 age Drawing Category: first - Morgan Bougeois with Chuck Taylors; second - Savannah Loupe with Ballerina; third - Brett Allen with Creative Wisdom; fourth - Aurora Tate with Just Look.

     Winners in the 12 to 17 age Photography Category: first - Jenna Faucheux with Untitled; second: Delaney Madere with Summertime Living is Easy.

     Winners in the 12 to 17 age 3-D category: first - Marlie Poche with Krabs; second - Aurora Tate with Louisiana Culture; third - Jessica Hotard with Industrial Fish.

     Winners in the Adult Painting: first - Maria Boudreaux with The Big Splash; second - Gaynell Moore with Stormy; third - Robby Brock with Power; fourth - Cole Williams with Golden Trees.

     Winners in the Drawing Category: first - Cole Williams with Cello; second - Lori Porrier Weber with Mikes Mangrove Snapper; third - Loveday Funck with Visions of Da Vinci; fourth - Robby Brock with Island Town.

     Winners in the Adult Photography category: first - Donna Stelly with Spanish Romance; second - Amy Gautreau; third - Kitty Kuhnert with Even the Angels wept on 9/11; fourth - Donna Stelly with Fishing under a Golden Sky.

     Winners in the adult 3-D category: first - Mary Demarest with Dining Out. second - Robin Rotolo with Turquoise; third - Sally McConnell with Blue Lotus Bowl; fourth - Colin Berthelot with A Lost Love.

     The River Region Art Association, founded in 1993, is the area’s leading regional art organization. Its mission is to bring artists and arts advocates together to improve public awareness of all art forms. The association supports local artists, promotes the arts in the community, and provides educational opportunities for emerging and established artists, students, and the general public.

     River Region Art Association is funded in part through the generosity of individuals and area businesses, and the Recreation Department of the Parish of Ascension and through in-kind support from the City of Gonzales and Houmas House Plantation. It is also supported by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council as administered by the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge.
