A native and resident of Prairieville, she passed away on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 at the age of 94. Burial in Prairieville Cemetery.
Gautreau, James Donald
He passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at the age of 82. He was born in Gonzales on Aug. 9, 1930. He was a 1948 graduate of Gonzales High School. He worked in the electrical/construction field in the Baton Rouge area until he enlisted in the 35th Air Division of the U.S. Air Force in 1951 during the Korean War, earning the medals of World War II Army of Occupation Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, and United Nations Korean Service Military Medal. After his service he was employed by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers from 1955 to 1967. In 1967 he went to work for the Gillis W. Long Hansen's Disease Center and finally retiring as facility manager in 1995 after completing 32 years of service to the federal government. He was a member of the St. Theresa Choir and local funeral choirs for over 50 years. He also practiced the French language at a local class. He was a member of the Gonzales Country Club. He was a member of the American Legion for 50 years and I.B.E.W for 60 years. Burial in Hope Haven Cemetery, Gonzales.
Gordon, Rose Pleasant
A native of Donaldsonville and a resident of Lutcher. She died at St. James Parish Hospital in Lutcher at 4:25 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012. She was 82. Entombment in Protestant Cemetery in Donaldsonville.
Kenny Sr., Ben "Irving"
A retired offshore worker, he died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2012, at his home in Donaldsonville. He was 73 and a native of Donaldsonville. Memorial services were held at Williams & Southall Funeral Home, 101 Loop 945, Donaldsonville.
Lambert, Mavis Lucille
Retired in retail sales and a resident of St. Amant, she died at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at her home. She was 69 and a native of Independence. Interment in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
LeBlanc, Patricia Ann "Pat"
A lifelong resident of Sorrento, she passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012. She was 70 years old and a retired cafeteria manager. Visitation was held at Household of Faith on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012.
LeBlanc, Shirley Ann Anderson
She passed away on Oct. 30, 2012 at 5 a.m. She was 71 years old, a native and resident of Gonzales. Interment will be at St. Theresa Catholic Church Cemetery.
Settoon, Candy Kyes
She passed away at 11:20 p.m. on Oct. 26, 2012, at the age of 36. She was born in Lafayette on Oct. 27, 1975, and spent most of her life in Pointe Coupee Parish before moving to Prairieville in 2007. She graduated from False River Academy and Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, and was a paralegal for Mr. James Eric Johnson at the law firm of Porteous, Hainkel, and Johnson in Baton Rouge. There was a memorial service for Candy Saturday, Nov. 3, at St. Paul's Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, New Roads.
Villa, Emma Lou Henry
She passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012 in Baton Rouge, at the age of 55 after a brief illness. She was an assistant manager for her sister at Grace's Lounge, in St. Amant, for 21 years and was in the commercial painting industry for the last 10 years with Brock Construction. A memorial celebration of her life was held at Ourso Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 2, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a memorial service at 7 p.m. She was a native of Morgan City, a resident of Gonzales and a former resident of Paulina.
Zimmerle, Shirley Hernandez
She was a native of Donaldsonville and a resident of Walker. She died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 at 1:46 p.m. at Landmark Nursing Home. She was 90. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
