Flag retirement ceremony held

The third flag retirement ceremony held recently honoring all the fallen troops and especially Ascension Parish resident Army Pfc. James P. Lambert.?Lambert was 23 and assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 62nd Air Defense Artillery, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, N.Y. He was killed May 25 when an improvised explosive device hit his patrol in Fallujah, Iraq. Randy Obre, hands the flag to a Scout troop leader. Boy Scout Pack 469, Pack 69, Boy Scout Troop 69 and Troop 65 assisted with the ceremony. Daycare children were in attendance, as well as some parents.
