Mixing Art with Coffee

River Region Art Association member and local artist/instructor Wendy Hazey will be showcasing some of her students as they conduct demonstrations in graphite and oil at CC’s Community Coffee on Airline Hwy in Prairieville on Saturdays from Jan. 21-Feb. 25,  from 10 a.m.-noon.

The  younger students will be working on a Manet master study in graphite. The overall purpose of the exercises are to teach the students how to break down the color seen in the image into value to create form.  Manet is chosen for his loose brushstroke technique, which makes it easier for the students  to see the breakdown in color and value. Hazey's students range in age from 6-16: Doris Xu, Joy Fu, Linda Yu, Alexander Wu, Hannah Cheng and Ziying He... Some additional works will be displayed by the students during the demonstrations.

River Region Artists also have a rotating adult art display hanging at CC’s.  Adult art demonstrations are also presented at the Coffee House on various weekends.
