New Year's Eve and New Year's Day weather

Charlotte Guedry

Saturday morning was another foggy start, and the fog will return tonight and again on New Year's Day.

Temperatures today will remain in the low 70s, with temperatures making a steady drop into the New Year's Eve celebrations. The fog has been causing issues along our roadways, and is expected to be rather heavy come midnight, so extra caution is urged when driving to and from your New Year's Eve parties.

New Year's Day sees a drop in temperatures, with the high for the day coming in at the low 60s. Since the weather will be noticably cooler, and will lead to the fog dissipating at a quicker rate, it won't be surprising to find a few showers coming to the area.

With the fog tonight making traffic more difficult to see, and with people out and about celebrating the New Year, we at the Gonzales Weekly Citizen ask you to take care when on the roads. Drinking and bad weather can be an ugly mix, so stay safe, Ascension! We look forward to seeing and hearing from you all as we begin 2012.

Happy, Happy New Year!
