RPCC number one in growth

River Parishes Community College, located in?Sorrento, has been serving the further education needs of a number of parish residents for over a decade, recently celebrating their 11th year in the community.

Formed on July 1, 1999, the college has grown not only in  campus size, but also in the amount of their student enrollment.

Recently they were awarded a distinction that has shown not only those in?Ascension Parish, but also those outside of the area, that the College means business.

RPCC was named the fastest growing college by Community  College Week.

This has meant that  River Parishes Community College grew 42% between the Fall of 2009 and the Fall of 2010.

 The ranking is based on  public two-year institutions with an enrollment between 2,500 and 4,999 students.

“This honor is indicative to the hard work we have put in to both the college and the community,” said Nick Ory,?RPCC?Media Relations Coordinator.
