Swamp People's Troy Landry to Ride in Ascension Parish Christmas Parade

Staff reports

Cox Communications announced today that reality TV star and alligator hunter Troy Landry of the History Channel’s “Swamp People” will be the company’s special guest for the 2011 Ascension Parish Christmas Parade.

Instead of his usual swamp boat, Landry will ride atop Cox’s 30-foot float themed, “Gifts from the Swamp,” as it heads down Burnside Avenue on December 11th in Gonzales.

“Troy has been captivating fans for three years now with his white shrimp boots, wonderful Cajun accent and adventurous occupation,” Senior Vice President & General Manager Jacqui Vines said. “Cox is delighted to welcome him to Ascension Parish as our special guest and know that our customers will be excited to see him too.”

Cox is honored that a second Louisiana favorite, Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne, will also be a guest on the float.

The parade begins at East Ascension High School at 2 p.m. and proceeds down Burnside Avenue and ends where Airline Highway and Burnside intersect.
