During Thursday night's Parish Council meeting, Councilman Chris Loar made a request to amend the 2012 budget, allowing for a $25,000 donation to the Kidz Kove Project.

All council members were in agreement, much to the delight of Kidz Kove board members present.

The group has raised over $500,000 during the last year and a half, but are still hoping for another $250,000 from donations.

The park will be located on Cornerview in Gonzales, directly next to the new Gonzales Police building, currently being constructed. The land for the park has been donated by, and will be maintained by, the City of Gonzales.

Donations may be made to Project Kidz Kove at: P.O. Box 179, Brittany, LA 70718, or for more information, please call 644-5273.
