Volunteer Ascension’s?Evening of Hope a success

Recently, Volunteer Ascension held their 8th Annual Evening of Hope fundraiser at Parc 73. The event, designed to raise funds for the local, non-profit organization, was an overwhelming success.
Volunteer Ascension Executive Director Sherry Denig was pleased with the night’s attendance and what they managed to raise.
“Funding is critical to ensure that we can continue with our local programs such as School Tools, School Uniforms, ConnecTeens and Make a Difference Day,” she said. “We are extremely grateful to the community as well as our sponsors, Investar Bank, BASF, Layne’s, InStrumental Design, Atmos, and Gonzales Weekly Citizen. It is overwhelming to see the support that we as an organization receive from our community. We worked hard to ensure that the event offered something for everyone, including music, a live auction, and even Layne’s giving away a half carat diamond. I am so happy to have been able to share that special night with so many of Ascension’s residents."
Denig said the event managed to raise a little over $14,000 for Volunteer Ascension.
