Bourgeois, Patricia Ann Braud “Pat”

A resident of Gonzales and native of Baton Rouge, she died on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011. She retired as a bank teller in the Gonzales area. Burial in Hope Haven Gardens of Memory, Gonzales.

McKamie, Jay Richard


A native of Arkansas and resident of Prairieville, he passed away Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, at the age of 59. There was a memorial gathering at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Friday, Oct. 7, from 2 p.m. until a memorial service at 3 p.m.


Betty Solar Murphy

A native of White Castle and resident of Monroe, she passed away Oct. 8, 2011 at the age of 79. She is survived by children, Jenny Reed and husband, Mike, Cathy Miller and husband, Leo, Paula Ray and husband, Tony, David Murphy and wife, Kecia; grandchildren, Megan, Michaela and Samantha Reed, Kayla Lee and husband, Jake, Jason Thompson, Brian Ray and wife, Brandi, Andrew Ray, Josh Murphy and wife, Nikki, Leslie Andrews and husband, Jeremiah; seven great grandchildren; brothers, Bobby Solar, Neg Solar, C.J. Solar, Jimmy Solar, Dickie Solar; sisters, Rita Zeringue, Lois Clement, Evelyn McIntyre; and a host of nieces, nephews, and her extended family at Lake Passman Senior Community. Preceded in death by father, Spaulding F. Solar; mother, Violet Petty; brother, Lloyd Solar; sister, Jerry Sue Lofton; and granddaughter, Brooke Reed. There was a visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, Monday, Oct. 10, 2011 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation resumed at the funeral home Tuesday Oct. 11, 2011 from 10  a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Interment was in Carpenter’s Chapel Cemetery, Galvez. Pallbearers were Brian Ray, Andrew Ray, Josh Murphy, Jason Thompson, Greg Solar, and Jeffery Solar. Sinclair, John Michael “Johnny”

A native of Galvez and resident of French Settlement, he passed away Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at age 46. Interment in St. Joseph Catholic Church cemetery.

Soulé, Hale Selaisse

A retired employee of BASF Chemical Co., Geismar, and a resident of Darrow, he died at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at home. He was 75 and a native of New Orleans. Interment in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery, Darrow.  He graduated from J.S. Clark High School, New Orleans, and Southern University, Baton Rouge. He was a member of the Royal Kingman Civil and Social Club, Darrow.

Taylor, Stella Mae Lotten

A retired teacher's aide, she died at 9:34 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, in Donaldsonville. She was 78 and a resident and native of Donaldsonville. Memorial service was at First Israel Baptist Church, Belle Rose on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 11 a.m.

Templet, Vernon F.

A resident of Baker, he passed away in Mobile, Ala., on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011. He was 87 and a native of Donaldsonville. He was a retired supervisor with Exxon and a Navy veteran of World War II.  Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park.

Whitney, Vickie Lyn Richardson

She was 44 and was a native of Brittany and a resident of Prairieville. She died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, in Houston. She was born Nov. 30, 1966, in Baton Rouge. She was a 1984 graduate of East Ascension High School and 1993 graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University. She was a teacher with the Ascension Parish School Board. She taught at Gonzales Primary School and Gonzales Middle School and was a kindergarten teacher at Oak Grove Primary School at the time of her death. Vickie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial in Hope Haven Cemetery in Gonzales.
