District IV Honor Choir announced

East Ascension High School had Ethan Smith (Baritone) qualify. St. Amant High 
School had Abby Ragusa (Alto), Brittney Clement (Alto), Phoenix Goodwin 
(Tenor), and Daniel Bourgeois (Tenor) qualify. Dutchtown High School had Mary 
Alice Mouk (Alto) and Sarah Sonnier (Alto) qualify.

On Monday, October 3, 2011, singers from Ascension Parish participated in the District IV Choral Director Association Honor Choir Concert. 

This is the first time in years that singers from all Ascension Parish Public School Choruses have qualified for this honor.  The choir was directed by Dr. C. Leonard Raybon, director of choral studies, Tulane University, New Orleans, LA.

Directors for participating schools are BJ Bertucci, St. Amant HS; Cathy Elisar, Dutchtown HS; Erin Perdue, East Ascension HS.

Daniel Bourgeois and Sara Sonnier both qualified to sing in the Louisiana Music Educators Association All-State Mixed Honor Choir and Mary Alice Mouk was accepted into the Women’s All-State Honor Choir.
