Ed Braud showcases his stacked pot Dutch Oven cooking technique.

Recently, Ed Braud invited a few friends to sample some of his Dutch Oven cooking.

Floyd Melancon, and his wife Lucille, opened up their home to friends and family, as they all sampled the food created by?Braud, a local author credited with writing “Black Iron and Cajun?Spice,”?a recent cookbook published by the author.

Braud spent many years collecting his recipes and creating Cowboy poems to go with the concept of the book.

“I’m so happy to have everyone here,” said Braud. “I love cooking and sharing what I create with everyone I love.”

Braud has recently held  book signings throughout the area, including one at Galvez Hardware and another at Landry’s Pharmacy.

“We have sold so many books,” said Braud’s wife Audrey. “The response we have gotten has been wonderful.?We cannot thank people enough for all of their support.”

Braud’s book is available by contacting him directly by calling 644-4253 or 715-3625.
