Kristen Lee Murphy and Jordan Craig Silverthorne exchanged wedding vows Saturday evening, July 2, 2011, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Austin with the Rev. Sam Riccobene, associate pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Austin, officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Jon and Rhonda (née Benning) Murphy of Doha, Qatar, formerly of Katy, Texas; both parents are graduates of East Ascension High School. She is the granddaughter of the late Lewis and Juanita Murphy of Prarieville, and the late Gloria Crawford of Gonzales. Silverthorne is the son of Craig and Jean Silverthorne of Plainview, Texas.

Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a Kenneth Pool ivory, strapless, royal satin ball gown with a sweetheart neckline. The fitted bodice featured Swarovski crystal appliqué and hand beading through the dropped waistline. The full skirt had a glove button detail and grand beaded appliqués at the side hems and the cathedral train.

She wore a cathedral veil and blusher of silk illusion, with an ivory silk satin ribbon edge. Her bouquet was an arrangement of white peonies, roses, gardenias and lilies of the valley accented with a vintage gold Hamilton ribbon watch that was a gift from the groom. She also carried with her a vintage diamond filigree wedding band and lace handkerchief that belonged to the bridegroom's grandmother, and a St. Catherine pendant from childhood. Completing her ensemble were diamond encircled pear drop earrings and a pear-shaped diamond drop necklace with diamonds interspersed along the neckline that were borrowed from her jeweler.

Amanda Sigurdson of Houston was maid of honor. Bridal attendants were Brooke Dungen of Columbus, Texas, Katherine Mandracchia of Bedford, Texas, Casey Haskins of Dallas, Haylie Wendt of Houston, Ashlie McQuilken of Austin and Danitra Davis of Houston. The bridal attendants wore sapphire blue satin V-neck floor length gowns with a cross front detail and accentuated at the back waistline with a French knot and crystal brooches. They carried bouquets of white peonies, freesia, roses, sweet peas and hydrangeas and wore pearl strand necklaces and earrings that they had received as a gift from the bride.

For the dinner reception and dance hosted by the bride's parents at the Four Seasons Grand Ballroom, the bride wore a Rivini strapless silk gown with delicate decorative ruching at the bust and sweetheart neckline. It featured a crystal and embroidered bodice that flowed into a slim A-line skirt. The back of the train was accentuated by a three tier French bustle and crystal embroidered appliqués. She wore a fingertip veil of silk illusion and added handmade sterling silver and pearl hair-combs as a fascinator.

The ballroom décor featured white draping and varying sizes of floral arrangements utilizing the same varieties of flowers from both the bride's and attendants' bouquets.

The bride's cake was vanilla chiffon filled with Chambord buttercream, tiered with fresh flowers and gold edible accents and garnished with raspberries. The groom's chocolate cake was a four-foot scaled replica of The University of Texas Tower with both chocolate mousse and peanut butter mousse filling by Simon Lee Bakery in Austin.
