Seats still available for St. Elizabeth Hospital programs

The Community Education Department of St. Elizabeth Hospital is offering a number of presentations in June. Seats are still available for the following programs:

• Saturday, June 25, Growing Up – A class for preteen boys. Help your son understand the physical and emotional changes he will experience as he goes through puberty.  Participants are asked to join in to this matter-of-fact and reassuring discussion on this normal part of growing up.  Designed for boys ages 10-12 and their dads/moms, from 9-10:30 a.m.,  St. Elizabeth  Hospital, Sr. Vernola Room. Fee: $15.   Registration is required.

• Thursday, June  23 &  30, Loss and Grief Education and Support Meeting.  If you have experienced loss of any kind, join Mary Ann Abel, LCSW, Grief Recovery Center, to help you through the grieving  process.  The group meets every Thursday, from  6-7 p.m.   St. Elizabeth Hospital, St. Francis Classroom. The program is free and registration is preferred.

•Wednesday, June 29, Workplace Response to Domestic Violence: It Is Your Business? For front line managers and employees. Featuring guest speakers: Summer Steib, director of Education & Training, Capital Area Family Violence Intervention Center, Inc. The Battered Women’s Program and Pam Richardson, Domestic Violence Coordinator, Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office. Sponsored by: Women’s Advisory Council of St. Elizabeth Hospital with assistance from Louisiana Department of  Justice, Office of the Attorney General. the program is free. Limited space is available, at   St. Elizabeth Hospital, Sr. Linda Conference Room (auditorium), from 8:30-11:30 a.m.
