2011 World Day of Prayer

Church Women United in Baton Rouge invites family, friends, and communities of faith to celebrate the 2011 World Day of Prayer Friday, March 4, 2011 at 8:30 a.m. at Ingleside United Methodist Church, 4264 Capital Heights Avenue, Baton Rouge. Registration and breakfast will be provided. Breakfast donations will be accepted and appreciated. At 9 a.m. will be the World Day of Prayer celebration, “How Many Loaves Have You?,” written by the women of Chile.

The annual offering will support the work of World Day of Prayer USA and help meet the needs of families who are victims of many forms of poverty, violence and human trafficking.

2nd Annual Spring Choir Workshop

Members of the Second Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, along with Pastor James Davis Sr. and the music ministry, will host its 2nd Annual Spring Choir Workshop. The workshop title “It’s Not About Us” will be held March 16-18 at 6 p.m. The musical cognition will be Joel Jones, minister of music. The event is being held to enhance participants fundamental and performance skills to refresh or improve their choral and spiritual knowledge.

Following the workshop March 18 will be a musical at 7 p.m.

There will be a $10 participation fee that will be collected upon arrival.

Beginning Experience

Beginning Experience, a weekend for divorced, separated and widowed people of all faith is set for March 25-27 at the Catholic Life Center, Baton Rouge.

Friday Night Gospel Explosion on The Bayou

Pastor Gregory Andrews and the New St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church invites the public to their “Friday Night Gospel Explosion on The Bayou” at 7 p.m. Feb. 25. The guest speaker will Pastor Norman Edmonds with Beulah Baptist Church.

The location is 2766 Hwy. 311, Schriever. The event is casual attire.

Church to honor pastor

The Buena Vista Baptist Church Pastor’s Support Church, along with the Buena Vista family, will honor Pastor Joseph Coleman Sr. and First Lady Diane C. Colemen in their 24th Year Anniversary Service. This celebration will be held Sunday, Feb. 27, during the noon service.

The guest minister will be Rev. Michael Washington, pastor of New Vision Outreach Ministries of Donaldsonville.

The church is located at 10633 Hwy. 18 (River Road) in St. James.
