Local 4-H kids qualify for national competition

Three local 4-H shooting sports kids qualified for the 2010 Nationals 4-H Invitational Shoot May 7-9 in Shreveport.

After competing at regionals in Lake Charles and state in Shreveport, Jacie Kennison, Anthony Picou and Brett Brown qualified to move on to nationals.

Kennison will be competing in 22 rifle, Picou will be competing in air rifle, while Brown will be competing in shotgun. They will be traveling to Kerrville, Texas to compete from June 29 to July 3 at Hill Country Shooting Center.

The mission of the Louisiana 4-H Shooting Sports Program is to assist youth in acquiring knowledge, developing life skills, and forming attitudes so that they may become self-directing, productive, and contributing members of society.
