Old friends reunite in Gonzales

Marie-Christine Tardy, mayor of Gonzales sister city of Meylan, France, was greeted by former Gonzales mayor Johnny Berthelot during a dinner in her honor at the Holiday Inn Wednesday night.

John Hebert of the Gonzales Committee on Cultural Affairs also greeted her. Tardy and a delegation from Meylan visited the area for several days.

They were feted earlier in the day during a Shell Chemical Company affair at Ashland Belle Helene plantation.
