ENGAGEMENT: Baker-Blanchard

Dale and Nancy Blanchard of Maurepas announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Alyssa Janeé, to Brandon Keith Baker, both of Edmond, Okla. They plan to wed at a 7:30 p.m. ceremony April 11, 2009, at Walnut Creek Chapel in Oklahoma City.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Elouise Craver of Denham Springs and the late Russell Craver and Sidney and Jeanette Blanchard of Baton Rouge. She attended Louisiana Tech University, is a 2003 graduate of North Oaks School of Radiologic Technology and a 2004 graduate of The University of Louisiana at Monroe with a bachelors of radiologic science. She is an alumnus of Sigma Kappa Sorority and Lambda Nu Honor Society. She is currently employed as director of Radiology at Foundation Surgical Hospital of Oklahoma. 

The prospective groom is the son of Danette Baker of Moore, Okla. and Buddy Baker of Oklahoma City. He is the grandson of Helen Caldwell of Oklahoma City and the late John Caldwell, the late Ray Baker of Oklahoma City, and the late Daniel and  Edna Blood of Midwest City, Okla. He attended Oklahoma City Community College, Oklahoma State University OKC, Francis Tuttle Technology Center and has obtained nine industry certifications in information technology. He will graduate with a bachelor of arts in liberal studies at the University of Oklahoma in 2010. He is employed as the director of Health Information Technology at Foundation Surgical Hospital Affiliates.
